Yet again Almuñécar/Herradura suffer a partial blackout on a Saturday night as the summer begins – half the municipality was plunged into darkness.
The opposition leader for the PSOE, Rocío Palacios, urged the governing party to “work towards” solving this problem, which, she claims, has become almost a summer certainty.
“It is lamentable that as soon as the tourist season begins and the demand for electricity goes up, we have to suffer these blackouts – Saturday the 7th was just the first,” she said.
Apparently, the whole of La Herradura and half of Almuñécar was left in the dark, leaving the townsfolk and local businesses in the lurch, with bars and restaurants crammed.
The Mayor, Sra. Palacios observes, is into her second term and she still hasn’t sorted this reoccurring problem out.
Therefore, the PSOE are going to present a motion at the next Plenary Meeting of the Town Council, calling upon the Mayor to meet with representatives of the utility company to eliminate this problems “with maximum alacrity.”
