The Servicio Marítimo de la Guardia Civil not only carries out sea rescues, but it also keeps an eye on nautical leisure activities.
It was whilst they were carrying out this secondary duty that they came across two pleasure craft on the 27th of June, berthed in the Marina del Este being chartered out as ‘party boats,’
It was the music, dancing and drinking on deck that attracted the document-hungry attention of the Guardia Civil.
On one of the yachts some of the crew were showing signs of being inebriated with an excess of passengers on board. Out came the fines documents because the situation on board was deemed as dangerous for the craft and those aboard, as well as other craft in the vicinity.
The second craft did not have its passenger roll correctly filled out and was without a licence for carrying out such activity.
