Just as soon as the summer season is over, the Salobreña Town Hall will carry out repair work on the Plaza del Lavadero in Caleta.
The Mayor of Salobreña, María Eugenia Rufino, has met with municipal surveyors and representatives from Caleta residents in order to explain what the planned work will entail.
The Plaza del Lavadero, which occupies a surface area of 785 sq/m, is partially closed off to the general public at the moment, owing to how wave action has undermined the ground under the square.
The repair work has a budget of 206,000 euros with a work duration period of two months. The paved area will be dug up, and underneath filled in with concrete before the square is resurfaced again. Furthermore, the square lighting will be overhauled and the surrounding wall, as well.
