Signature Gathering

Almuñécar’s C.A. party has been out collecting signatures in favour of preventing a supermarket chain from taking over the municipal market. We should point out, however, that it is not certain such an outcome is on the cards.

The signature collection will continue until the 3rd of this month and was arranged to coincide with the public consultation period for the new-market project.

According to the Secretary General of the Covergencia Andalucista party, Rafael Contreras, the reason for the drop in trade in the municipal market has been the absence of parking with the underground car park having been closed down.

He considers that the market should not be demolished but simply renovated to maintain its present form.
