Nine people where injured in a road accident on the N-340 where it passes through the municipality of Motril yesterday.

The emergency number 112 received several calls from drivers to alert the emergency services to a collision involving three vehicles around 23.45h near kilometre point 331 on the westbound lane; close to the first, Motril junction coming from Salobreña.

According to the ambulance crew, one seriously injured occupant was rushed to Granada with head injuries, after being cut free from the wreckage.

The rest of the victims of the road accident were sent to Santa Ana in Motril owing their injuries being of less gravity.

Normal road traffic was restored around 01.30h this morning after the damaged cars were towed away.
