Volunteers working on the rocks around the Punta de la Mona as part of a clean up in La Herradura picked up almost 200 kilos of rubbish, some of which had obviously been discarded by anglers.
A total of 30 volunteers, split into two groups, participated, combing the rocks on Saturday the 24th from 10.00h onwards. These community spirited helpers came from the Asociación Amigos del Mar, Club de Buceo Open Wáter and Voluntarios de Senderistas Sierra Nevada.
Amongst the items of the rubbish collected was fishing tackle, batteries, cans and bottles, as well as other litter, explained the campaign coordinator, Carlos Ferrón.
