Around 50 pupils from Almuñéar’s International School blitzed the Río Seco riverbed, removing litter and rubbish in general.

With the help of the municipal environmental department and the cleaning company, FCC, the kids eliminated rubbish that would otherwise have ended up on the seabed, come heavy rains.

The clean up, which was part of a school, environmental project entitled, Global Perspectives ‘harvested’ over 100 kilos of rubbish.

On a different note, it is telling that the rivers still haven’t risen, owing to this drought – not during autumn 2017 nor so far this winter. Things don’t bode well.
