Four Policia Nacional officers managed to save a man’s life in Motril thanks to their combined efforts to revive him after he suffered a cardiac arrest.
The incident occurred around noon on Wednesday – the emergency, police number 091 had received a call to say that there was a man lying unconscious on the street.
Four policemen turned up and began to apply CPR, taking it in turns, five minutes each and they kept it up for 20 minutes. Then, after a brief period of recovering a pulse, he lost it again, so they started again and maintained it until the ambulance arrived.
The 66-year-old man is said to be recovering in Hospital Santa Ana, where the doctors pointed out that thanks to the persistent efforts of the policemen, his life was saved and neurological damage was averted.
