Sierra Nevada greets the 2017 Christmas holidays with a total of 54 kilometres of skiable slopes thanks to five of its six skiing areas already operating.
The sixth area, La Luna de las Yeguas, which is the most popular one for seasoned skiers, will only be open between 10.00h and 12.00h from today in order the conserve the existing snow there. Access to this area will be via the Collada de la Laguna and exit will be via the Dilar ski lift. This arrangement will be revised each day based on the condition of the slopes.
Night skiing begins tomorrow, Saturday and as of next week, on Thursdays, too, and night skiing will continue on those two days of the week until spring.
So, this very popular, southern, skiing resort has 54 skiable kilometres distributed along 67 different slopes.
Finally, Father Christmas, together with his helpers, will be skiing down the Pista del Río on the 23rd to mark the beginning of the night-skiing season. This will take place at 19.30h after he has finished handing out presents at the Sala Telecabina.
