An 86-year-old man who was arrested by the Policía Nacional in the city of Granada had seven arrest warrants out on him – obviously a bit boisterous.
These arrest warrants had been issued all over the country: Segovia, La Coruña, Toledo, Ciudad Real and Cáceres, and are mostly for fraud-related offences.
Amongst the reasons that the police were keen to have him behind bars was for his failure to appear before a judge in several courts around the land. Furthermore, there was an arrest warrant for failing to report to prison.
The elderly gentleman, who was arrested in a small B&B-cum-hotel in the centre of the city, is now safely behind bars, for the immediate future, at least – when you’re 86, everything is immediate future, after all.
Editorial note: the gentleman in the photo is not the subject of this article… although he does look pretty irascible.
