Around mid-November a 40-year-old father was arrested for leaving his 4-year-old son in a car for hours whilst he was in a swingers bar, allegedly drunk.

According to police, one Friday evening at 22.45h in Dos Hermanas (Sevilla), they received a call from a motorist to say that he was blocked in because another car had double parked. Accordingly, the municipal police went to investigate.

They found the car and discovered that there was a 4-year-old boy inside, crying his eyes out because he was cold – we are in winter, after all, though it might not seem like it on the Costa Tropical.

The Policía Nacional also appeared at the scene and took charge of the child whilst the Traffic Department was contacted to find out who the owner of the car was.

Taking, as a starting point, that owing to how he had parked his car he couldn’t be that far away, they started checking in local bars and restaurants.

They found him at 01.50h the next morning in a night-bar specialising in dating. Interestingly, they tracked him down to that bar because he had just used a bank card in the establishment, which showed up on the police computer.

They immediately arrested him for abandoning a minor. The police got the number of the mother from the arrested father, whom they contacted and to whom they handed the child over.
