This Sunday will see the II Certamen Abierto de Pesca Surfcasting on La Herradura beach. Interested? Well, if you are, the inscription fee is 25 euros on the day but five euros less if you pay before Sunday arrives.

Even if you are awash with money, you might not be too eager to be at the bar in the Centro Cívico at 07.00h, because that’s where and when the event starts. At 07.30h there will be a draw to allot the angling spots for each competitor.

At 8.00h you have to be at your position for the start at 09.00h. The fishing period lasts until 13.00h. Then it’s back to the bar in the Centro Cívico for prize giving at 14.30h. The top prize is 500 in cash.

According to Federación Andaluza de Pesca regulations, anglers are not permitted to use sardines or mackerel as bait… or hand-grenades… just joking!
