A 54-year-old man in Los Guájares died this weekend after falling out of a tree and down a barranco.

The accident occurred at approximately 17:50h shortly before the wife of the victim contacted the emergency services to say that he had fallen out of a tree and down barranco in the area known as Guripe.

The Guardia Civil mountain-rescue team was sent out, together with an ambulance, as well as specialists from Infoca (forest-firefighting service).

When they arrived, the man was already dead and his body was retrieved from the bottom of the barranco.
