The Granada-based Policía Nacional have already sent 92 riot police to Catalunya; the first 46 were sent to Taragona and the other 46 to Barcelona.
Another 30 will be sent together with 29 guardsmen from the Guardia Civil, bringing the total of 151 policemen from Granada being transferred to Cataluña to cope with expected unrest following the illegal referendum on Sunday the 1st.
More than the referendum, the Central Government is concerned that having failed to hold the referendum the Catalan Government will go for a unilateral declaration of Independence.
If all goes well, Granada will recuperate its police manpower on the 7th; a little dented but home all the same.
In the meantime, logistics is a headache, not only covering the policing needs of the presence without these policemen, but also getting them to their destination and their accommodation once they arrive.
Lastly, all the Guardia Civil policemen have volunteered for this duty because officially they cannot operate outside their province.
