Snowing on Sierra Nevada?

GRA Sierra HailstonesWhilst you were moaning down on the coast about the heatwave, last night it snowed a little on Sierra Nevada – despite daytime temperatures in the city of around 40ºC.

Actually, it’s not really snow but hailstones that fell between 2,100 metres up to 3,300 metres, leaving a white blanket.

Climate change? The end of the world? Nope, because according to the company that runs the ski station up there, Cetursa, it happens now and then during the height of summer even.

By the way, you can use their webcams to see what it’s like up there any day of the year by following this link: http://sierranevada.es/es/webcams/
