The Guardia Civil in Murcia arrested a bus driver who was six times over the alcohol intake limit. He had been stopped on the A-7 with 40 passengers on board.
According to the police press release, the incident took place on Wednesday the 18th of May within the municipality of Librilla after a concerned employee at a service station on the autovia alerted the police to a bus-driver with apparent symptoms of being drunk that had just driven off in the direction of Alicante.
The police set up a checkpoint to intercept him near another service station along the way near the town of Sangonera la Seca (Murcia).
His breathalyser test gave a 1.02 reading whereas the legal limit for professional drivers is only 0.15 mg/litre. The bus was immobilised and another one was provided for the passengers to continue on their way.
The driver had 40 Chinese passengers on board, on a route between Granada and Valencia
