The Mayor of Salobreña has announced that she had received word from the sub-delegate for the Central Government saying that work on the paseo begins this week.
“It’s true that this work begins late – we’re talking about the reparation of storm damage from 2015, but the important thing is that it is finally happening and we’re all going to have a new beach area for everybody to enjoy,” she said.
She admitted that it has been a long struggle with the various administrations but that it had been worth it as in her opinion there was no way that Salobreña could have to go through another summer like last one with one end of the beach en obras.
The 150,000-euro budget will be to lay the ground tiles, sort out the gardened area and complete the access steps to the beach.
If things go according to plan – and they rarely do – it should be finished before the end of June.
