A group of cyclists was attacked by a swarm of bees within the municipality of Vélez Benaudalla – the video has gone viral with over 86,000 hits.

It was the weekend of the 11th/12th and cyclists were peddling along a mountain track when they became the focal point of an angry swarm of bees – about 30 metres away a beekeeper was inspecting hives.

The cyclists were members of the Tropical Bike MTB, which is based in Motril and although there are only four victims in the video, the group was comprised of around 20 cyclists of which only five escaped unscathed.
