You will have heard that the most recently opened stretch of A-7 coastal autovía, between Carchuna and Castel, has to undergo repairs because of defects. Work commences this month.

Well, it’s true; a crack in the road surface forced the Ministry of Public works to revert to single-lane traffic on both the eastbound and westbound sides.

The Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, himself inaugurated this last A-7 coastal-motorway link between Algeciras in the Andalusia province of Cádiz and the French border in October 2015.

The Central Government recognises the situation and admits that the problem was detected at Christmas 2016 whilst the road crews were out putting up additional signposting.
