La Herradura will be holding the I Concurso de Embellecimiento de Fachadas y Rincones; i.e., prettiest facade competition.

“The object of the competition is to promote the embellishment of the municipality, making the residents part of the process,” said the First Councillor for La Herradura, Juan José Ruiz Joya

So, residents are invited to decorate  their balconies,  window bars and facades in general with flowers, a la Andalusian style.

The competition will run during the whole of March and all residents of La Herradura can participate. The jury will judge public spaces between the 16th and 19th of March; i.e., during the San Jose Fiestas.

You have until the 28th of February to put your name down, Monday to Friday at the Civic Centre. You an also submit your entry info via email: ttealcaldialaherradura@almunecar.es.

You’ll have to supply the exact location of the facade in question, the NIE of the property owner, contact telephone number and email address, if you have one.

There will be several prizes, the First Prize being a weekend for two at a Balneario de Andalucía (Spa); Second Prize will be a dinner for two in a La Herradura restaurant (100 euros). Finally, the Third Prize will be a dinner for two in a La Herradura restaurant (60 euros).
