Two General Hospitals for Granada

GRA Hospital ProtestsAfter lengthy negotiations between the Regional Health Board (SAS) and medical-staff unions etc, the former caved in to the demands of the latter: two general hospitals.

The demand for two complete general hospitals has been satisfied; both will have independent urgencias and different specialities.

The six-point document includes the repeal of the order signed on the 21st of November, 2014, which effectively reduced the city to just one general hospital and a series of minor, specialized hospitals.

The second point establishes that the city will be divided into two zone, each with a general hospital: hospital Clínico San Cecilio (the new PTS) and Hospital Virgen de las Nieves (Ruiz de Alda)

The document envisages having the exact route plan for the new arrangements within four to six weeks.
