The English-language film that has been selected for next week, Tuesday the 13th, is The Man Who knew Infinity.
Synopsis: Starring Dev Patel (Slum Dog Millonaire), Jeremy Irons, Stephen Fry and Malcolm Sinclair, this 2015 film is about the life and academic career of the pioneer Indian mathematician, Srinivasa Ramanujan, and his friendship with his mentor, Professor G.H. Hardy.
Srinivasa Ramanujan starts life as a struggling and indigent citizen in Madras. He did menial jobs leaving him tottering on poverty.
However his employers saw that he had excellent mathematical skills, so they put to doing book keeping. The way he cruised through this showed them he needed to be encouraged to write papers on Mathematics and send them to university professors to evaluated.
One of these letters reached G.H. Hardy; a famous mathematical mind at Cambridge, you immediately became interested in Srinivasa.
