The Policía Nacional arrested four youths in Motril on the 23rd of November over muggings that had taken place during Halloween.

The suspects allegedly took advantage of their fancy-dress costumes to a mug groups of teens and steal their mobile phones.

According to the police they had received calls to say that several persons wearing masks; one of them was actually wearing a Spiderman outfit, had attacked a group of teens celebrating Halloween in Motril. Apart from bruises and grazes, nobody had been hurt.

Later that evening another group of teens reported a similar incident, bringing the total number of victims up to eight.

During the course of the month police investigations turned up the identities of the alleged culprits, bringing about their arrests on the 23rd.
