Tonight’s (Tuesday the 11th) film at the Almuñécar Casa de la Cultura will be The Book Thief.
Synopsis: During the horrors in World-War-II Germany, 10-year-old Liesel Meminger finds solace stealing books after losing her brother and mother in a train accident, she is adopted by a kindly couple who teach her to read. She steals books, forbidden by the Nazis and shares them with a Jewish refugee being hidden in the basement of her new home.
Starring Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson and Sophie Nélisse, this American-German war drama is based on a book by the same name written by Markus Zusak and published in 2006.
The film will be shown with Spanish subtitles.
