A 61-year-old man died on Sunday the 2nd when his motorised paraglider developed an engine fault over a beach in Murcia, causing the engine to fail completely.

The man died instantly after plummeting from a height of 50 metres onto the Playa del la Ermita in Mazarrón.

The emergency number 112 received ten calls reporting the accident on the said beach; they said that the victim was inert on the beach and had possibly died upon impact.
