This week saw the spacemen (FCC workers in their togs) out disinfecting and cleaning out Almuñécar’s and La Herradura’s underground rubbish bins.

According to the Councillor for Improbable Tasks and Funny Walks, this chore is carried out once every two months on the 15 underground-bin installations around the municipality: Torrecuevas, Rio Verde-La Paloma, Barrio Espinar, Las Maravillas (both Herradura) and next to the market.

The cleaning company FCC calls for cooperation from locals in maintaining the installations reasonably clean. The cockroaches, in the meantime, are calling for a truce.
