Missing Man Found

alm-missing-man-found-onlThere has been a bit of a flap in Almuñécar; residents will have noticed a low-flying helicopter passing repeatedly overhead: a well-known local man had gone missing.

It was at 02.00h Monday the 12th that 40-year-old Chef José Carlos Martín Liñán, finished work in a well-known restaurant in the San Cristóbal area and went for a walk. He hadn’t taken his wallet or mobile.

Trouble was, nothing had been heard of him since then and so the family raised the alarm. His description including the clothes he was wearing was passed on to the Guardia Civil, who immediately launched a search.

The very extensive search included the Guardia Civil maritime rescue launch, as well as one of their helicopters, combing the Cotobro and Velilla areas.

Fortunately, news has emerged around 17.00h this afternoon that he had been found alive and well.

There is still no reliable news on where he was found or why he had disappeared, although speculation abounds on the social networks.

The family has thanked everybody who had helped out in the search for José Carlos.
