Lobres Pool Scandal

Lobres Swimmingpool 004aThe IU opposition party in Salobreña has denounced the state of abandon in which the Lobres public swimming pool finds itself.

The decision to make a public complaint was taken after having spoken with the Councillor for Public Works at the Salobreña Town Hall.

This is the third year running that the Lobres swimming pool hasn’t opened during the summer because of structural deficiencies.

The IU points out that the facilities, which cost 400,000 euros to build, remain closed to the public for want of 40,000 euros to cover the necessary repair work.

The problems go back to when the PP governed the town, which was when the pool was built; i.e., a deficient construction job. So, the IU is demanding that somebody be held accountable for this situation. It appears that the then Town Council signed off the installations upon completion without bothering to inspect them.
