The woman from Víznar who was killed in Illica during the recent Italian earthquake has been named as 27-year-old Ana Huete.

She and her Italian boyfriend ran a pizzeria in the city of Granada and had been planning to marry. They had taken a holiday in order to visit the boyfriend’s (Christian Casini) family in their hometown. They were all in a big family house when the quake hit.

Whereas Ana was killed in the quake, the boyfriend was injured in the leg, trying to save Ana’s life. Both Ana and her future mother-in-law, Mara, were killed.

Although Christian was unable to save Ana, he was able to save the life of his 5-year-old niece. Already burdened by the loss of his father two months ago, Chris is now struggling with this second tragedy.
