A lucky escape for an 11-year-old British boy in Nerja after a 5-metre fall near Playa del Salón left him unconscious.

The accident occurred just after midnight last night when the child, whose family is holidaying in Nerja fell, landing amongst rocks with the impact leaving him unconscious.

He was first attended to by the ambulance crew on the Balcón de Europa before being rushed to the Hospital Comarcal de la Axarquía to be treated in the emergency ward at 01.20h for multiple bone injuries and bruising all over his body.

He was released from hospital at 05.45h that same morning.
