There were six people on board: the Spanish skipper and deckhand plus a British family of four, amongst whom was a 10-year-old child, who had hired the boat for a fishing trip.
One of the rescuers described how he had seen a man on the deck of the other craft, signaling and asking them in English to come to their aid.
The two Spaniards, aged 17 & 18, threw life jackets into the sea and one dove in to help whilst his friend remained at the controls of their craft. The people in the water were soon being given a helping hand out of the water and taken on board, the first being the frightened boy, followed by the adults.
