Motril Bus Station News

MOT New Bus StationWhilst the Councillor for Urban Development certainly doesn’t want to give a definite date, he does allow that the bus station will be open “imminently.”

Councillor Antonio Escámez, explained that the installations are virtually finished but what they are waiting for is for is a private company to be selected to run the bus station. In other words, the lease has to be put out to tender for it to be awarded to the company with the most favourable offer.

The company that takes it on won’t have to pay a hefty sum to the Town Hall for the lease, as it will be able to charge the bus companies for the use of the platforms, which implies that from the point of view of the lease holder, their investment will see slow returns.

What will happen to the old bus station on Calle Cruces? The land will be given over to building apartments – there’s a surprise!
