Goodbye Raised Zebra Crossings

SAL Raised Zebra Crossings OnLSalobreña has begun to eliminate those pesky elevated pedestrian crossings in the centre of the town – few tears will be shed.

The first four to fall are the ones on Avenida Federico García Lorca (1), Avda. 28 de Febrero (1), and Avenida de Peronne (2).

The Mayor, Mª Eugenia Rufino, was quick to explain that this does not mean that there will be no zebra crossings, but that the affected ones, once levelled, will be repainted.

As the maintenance crews will be out working on these main streets, they’ll also sort out a few potholes, pending the general retarmacking that will take place a few months down the line.

These operations will cost 25,000 euros from the municipal coffers… and a sum well spent!
