The accident occurred on the junction for entering the gasoline station on Avenida del Mediterráneo. It appears that the scooter was heading up from the direction of the beach when the car cut across to enter into the gasoline station.
This junction is also used by road users heading towards the beach wishing to change directions, with through traffic permitted through the gasoline station’s ample forecourt.
The rider, who remained lying on the ground on the junction, complained of strong shoulder pains and had to wait around half an hour for the ambulance to arrive, although he was treated by local medical staff whilst he waited.
The Policía Local directed traffic until the ambulance arrived to collect the rider and take him to Motril Hospital. The doctor who treated the man on the spot had diagnosed a dislocated shoulder.
