A municipal police patrol noticed somebody selling little bags of something from his Seat Ibiza; it was cannabis, so they arrested him, which was no easy feat.
The incident, which took place along the beach road yesterday, ended with the suspect resisting arrest whilst proffering insults. The inside of the car smelt like a Rastafarian Convention.
When one of the officers reached in to open the glove compartment – exposing its illegal content – the suspect reacted violently.
They had trouble getting the driver out of the car, at first, as he refused, but at one point he jumped out, knocking one of the policemen to the ground, before jumping back in again.
Reinforcements arrived in another patrol car and between them, they managed to prize him out, read him his rights and marched him off to the Almuñécar police station to be charged and finally to the Guardia Civil holding cells.
The suspect is 44-year-old R.J.R.R., La Herradura resident and with a previous arrest and court sentence over narcotics.
