Whilst conscious that we don’t want to turn into a “bleeding-heart” publication, it’s impossible not to cover this: four pups and two adult dogs died from heat exhaustion in a car.
The animal home, Abyda Jaén received an anonymous call on Tuesday the 14th to tell them that the caller had left several puppies at the facilities front door. When they got there it was to find six pups and two adult bitches; some already dead; others not far from dying.
According to the caller, they had found the animals and taken them in, but could not cope, so they apparently put them in the boot – the animal home has no idea how long they were kept in this manner, without ventilation in the high temperatures on that day, but however long it was, it was far too long.
One adult and two pups were already dead and although the other adult dog was rushed to a vet, she had to be put down because she was too far gone.
Two more pups didn’t survive the night, so that only one animal remains alive and is recovering from its ordeal.
