Butane Going Down

ALM butano lorryGood news for 8-million butano users; as of this week the butane bottle will cost 37% cheaper than this time last year!

OK, lets stow the percentages and talk about real prices – as of today, Tuesday the 17th, a gas bottle costs you 11.85 euros, compared with the 17.50 euros that we were paying in March 2015.

This decrease trend has been going on for the last 14 months, with the exception of January when it went up by 3%, but generally, thanks to the currency exchange and the surplus, things are getting cheaper.

In fact, unless something very unexpected happens, experts consider, in the next 6-month price revue it is liable to drop further in price.

According to national statistics, 33.6% of Spanish homes use these domestic butane bottles whilst 49% use Gas Natural (i.e., piped). Another 11.1% use oil and 2.5% use propane. Now, wasn’t that interesting!

Did you know that more people have been moving back to the domestic butane bottles? Yup, and that’s because of the crisis and it being a lot easier to control your consumption with a gas bottle under the sink.
