The PP opposition party in Motril will put forward a motion at the next Council Plenary Meeting for renovation work to be carried out on the Parque de los Pueblos de América.
Party Vice Secretary, Ángeles López, considers that the park is not receiving the maintenance work that it requires and that her party had received numerous complaints about it from concerned residents.
It will need an important cash injection to put the defects right, they consider: several park benches are broken, all of the drinking fountains are damaged and don’t work; the swings are broken and rusty; the information boards are deteriorated, amongst other defects.
Sra. Lopéz says that whilst this will be expensive to sort out, there are possibilities of obtaining a grant from the Programa de Fomento de Empleo Agrario 2016. She also pointed out that the April figures put local unemployment at 6,810 persons, which justifies applying for a grant from that programme.
Editorial comment: It refreshing to see an opposition party offer solutions when complaining about the state of things.
