An 83-year-old man has been jailed, awaiting trial for allegedly sexually assaulting his 101-year-old mother-in-law.

The incident took place in a house that the two shared in Madrid, together with the daughter of the victim; i.e, the accused’s wife. It was around three in the afternoon on Tuesday the 26th that the daughter had left the house to go shopping.

When she returned home and hour later, it was to find her mother in a state of shock, her hair disheveled and her adult diaper displaced. When she questioned her husband about what had happened, his replies were evasive.

On closer inspection, the daughter found that her mother had bruises all over her, so she phoned an ambulance and the elderly woman was taken to hospital.

It was at hospital that the mother confessed to her daughter that her son-in-law had sexually assaulted her – a medical inspection confirmed signs of sexual assault, probably with an unspecified object.

The police were informed and the daughter, elderly herself, made a statement accusing her husband of having sexually assaulting her mother.
