Atlas Expedition Departs Motril

MOT Aid Convoy OnLThe Club de Automóviles Clásicos Citroen CX de España used Motril Port for to reach Africa to participate in the Sans Frontieres 2016, charity rally.

The expedition convoy intends to transport aid to the underprivileged areas of the Atlas Mountains and desert. The convoy comprises of around 20 participants distributed between five Citroën CX’s and two support 4X4’s and all proceeding from several Spanish towns and cities.

The main aid recipient this year is a new school, right in the middle of a desert, which lacks much necessary equipment both in educational material as well as classroom furniture.

Amongst the cargo is the wherewithal for a play park with each team providing a recreational item.

The convoy is also carrying cooking implements such as pots and pans for nomadic tribes, provided by the NGO, Association Géneration Solidaires.

Each car is loaded with between 600 and 700 kilos on their roof racks.
