07 September 1940 – 02 February 2016

Sherry passed away peacefully in the afternoon of Tuesday 02 February.  Having succumbed to cancer, she managed to the end to retain her sharp tongue and sense of humour.

Born in Battersea, South London, Sherry was the youngest child of nine children in which, despite being a working class family, she had a relatively privileged upbringing.

During her early life as a teenager she became a traveller, living and working abroad in many locations, later becoming more settled, at which time she became a publican, and ran, with her husband Brian, The Star & Garter in Wandsworth, London, where many good times are well documented with photographic evidence.  Many a fabulous theme night was spent there with all in appropriate dress, usually resulting in a ‘lock in’ which resulted in partying well into the next morning.

After her husband died Sherry then retired to Brighton where she led a colourful life, accumulating many friends, which was typical of her gregarious and generous nature.

In 2001 she came to live in Almuñécar where she remained until her death.

Sherry will be sadly missed by her remaining family and by her many friends, new and old.
