Mugging & Burglary

ALM Guardia Civil Entrance OnLThe Guardia Civil arrested a 23-year-old man for an alleged mugging at knife point, and a break in. The victim was the same person in both cases.

The two incidents took place in the early hours of Sunday the 14th. It all started when the aggressor and victim bumped into each other outside a night bar under the Paseo del Altillo. They began chatting and decided to walk together as they lived quite close to each other.

However, before the victim reached his house the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife, demanding the victim’s mobile phone and anything else of worth that he had on him.

Unfortunately, the victim didn’t have any money on him so the aggressor made the victim take him to his home. Somehow, the victim convinced the man with the knife to stay outside whilst he went in for some cash.

Safely inside, the victim hurried to wake his father but in that short time the assailant had gained entrance to the house via a back door and stolen 350 euros from the dining room.

The father and son reported the theft and mugging to the Guardia Civil, who then set out to arrest him.

The suspect had already been arrested in January after holding up two victims in front of the same bars using a large knife – we ran an article on it, you might remember.
