The 14 bus-stop shelters around Salobreña have been spruced up and four more added, as well as numerous signposts with timetable boards.
The four new shelters are in Urbanización Pan de Azúcar (on Avenida de Andalucía) Urbanización Salomar 2000 on the seafront road, in the old town (near the parking area next to the castle) and in the outlaying urban area of La Guardia.
The 30-odd bus-timetable boards mounted on sign posts have the said information in English, as well as Spanish.
Have you been wondering where you can dispose of your spent batteries? Well, there are special bins for them next to five of the bus shelters, namely the ones along the seafront road and in Plaza de Goya, as well as next to the Casa de la Cultura, and in Lobres and La Caleta.
So how much did this cost the local taxpayers? Not a penny – the company that provided them, MGM, did so in return for the right to use them for advertising supports. Oh, and MGM also takes on the expense of maintaining and keeping them clean – not a bad deal!
