An elderly lady of 80 in Granada decided to give two young women an old sofa – they took the sofa and her jewellery, allegedly.

A young boy had accompanied the two women, who are from Eastern Europe and aged 21 & 23, to the elderly lady’s flat. His job was to distract the victim whilst the two women went through the her bedroom drawers in search of valuables.

It wasn’t until after the women had left that the victim realised that all her jewellery was missing. She immediately phoned the police.

Tracking down the suspects wasn’t difficult because they had gone straight to a shop that specialises in buying gold, who are obliged to keep records of their customers’ identity and hold the newly received gold items for a certain amount of time, precisely for this reason.

The two women, who both have criminal records, were arrested and taken before a magistrate.

Editorial comment: if you are a guest in this country and carry out a crime then you should be deported and not allowed back – full stop. This is getting to be a joke.
