Roquetas de Mar was in the news recently, as the First Prize of El Gordo Christmas lottery landed there – however, they’re not so happy now.

The rioting started Xmas-Day afternoon when a Sub-Saharan man was stabbed and died after a traffic dispute. The street disturbances continued into the night but, by the early morning of Boxing Day the situation had returned to normality.

The fighting in the street was between these African immigrants and a large group of Gypsies – it appears that one of the latter had been responsible for the stabbing.

This is not the first time that there has been a dust up between African immigrants and a Gypsy clan in Almeria.
