Itrabo Cortijo Raiders Caught

SAL Itrabo longshot OnLThanks to a phone tipoff from a concerned resident, the Salobreña Guardia Civil were able to arrest suspected house thieves in Itrabo.

The dispatched police patrol caught three known delinquents, each with extensive criminal records, on the afternoon of the 9th. The men, aged between 33 and 43, had just allegedly turned over a cortijo in the nearby countryside

It was 18.00h when a local from the Urbanización del Camino de los Malagueños phoned the Guardia Civil to say that three suspicious individuals were snooping around a cortijo in the area known as El Perruno – that’s the area of the village next to the Molvízar municipal boundary.

The policemen who were sent out to investigate went around to the caller’s house to interview him, who informed them that the men were driving a white van.

Now on their way to the cortijo, the police saw a vehicle answering that description coming towards them, so they flagged it down. They searched the van finding many household and agricultural items

They then drove to the cortijo and found that the three men had allegedly used a ladder to gain access to an upstairs window, force the latch and enter.

The stolen items and the men were taken to the police station where shortly afterwards the cortijo owner turned up and identified his property.
