Child Snatcher Faces Trial

MOT Ave Maria schoolA man who allegedly attempted to kidnap a 4-year old from outside her school in Motril, finally went before a judge on Friday the 6th. The verdict is yet to be made public.

As it stands, the Public Prosecutor has recommended three years and three months imprisonment.

The incident took place outside of the Colegio Ave María Varadero at 08.45h on the 23rd of October, 2013, when the accused snatched the girl, intending to drag her off, according to the Public Prosecutor.

Fortunately, the father of the girl wrestled with the man until he managed to free his daughter.

At the time of the incident, it has been established that the aggressor was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, which “affected his will and intellectual capacity.”
