The Policia Nacional in Motril arrested two men, aged 47 and 42, after they were caught red-handed breaking into a restaurant. We should perhaps use “allegedly” but when you’re caught wearing masks, and using crowbars to prize open a security shuter…
Anyway, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The incident began when a local saw two men, wearing masks, carrying tools, heading towards a restaurant in the early hours of the morning.
Reluctantly ruling out that they were crowbar salesmen on night shift who had forgotten to remove their ski masks after an afternoon skiing in the Sierras… he phoned the police.
The two suspicious characters, twigging that they had been rumbled, set off for a different part of town… however, the pesky local followed them and upon seeing them staking out a restaurant, phoned the police again.
This time the police sent around a patrol car and surprised the industrious gentlemen with their tools in their hands… let me rephrase that, with their crowbars in their hands. The thieves jumped up, threw away the incriminating tools and ran off in different directions.
However, the police caught up and arrested both of them. It also turned out that one had an arrest warrant out on him with instructions to deliver him to the provincial prison where they were eager for his company.
