Almuñécar’s New Fire Station

ALM New Fire Station OnLThe new fire station in Almuñécar will be inaugurated Monday, the 26th of October.

The installations, situated where the old medical centre was, on the main N-340 junction, will be manned by 20 firemen on different shifts.

The building, which occupies a 2,938 sq/m on a 3,241-sq/m plot, has two wings on a central vehicle garage. On the right-hand side there are two offices, a bathroom, storeroom and equipment room.

The left-hand side has two rest rooms with lockers, gym, classroom and toilets for the firemen, which are distributed on two different floors. There is also a meeting room and control room on the lower floor, kitchen and dining room.

“The fire station in Almuñécar, the third largest town in the province, population wise, will also serve the Río Verde Valley. Ítrabo and Molvízar,” explained the Councillor for Citizen Safety, Juan José Ruiz Joya.

Lastly, the fire station cost 800,000 euros to build and equip.
