Salobreña Burglars Arrested

SAL Burglars Arrested OnLThree young men in their early 20’s have been arrested in Salobreña in connection with a series of burglaries around the town.

The police operation, code named Palmito-2512 arrested the men, none of whom has a criminal record, suspected of carrying out a total of 16 forced entries.

The police operation came about after a burglary carried out in somebody’s house on the 28th of September, whilst the occupants were sleeping. They got away with mobile phones desktop computers, laptops and tablets.

On the same day the Guardia Civil received more calls from three homes in La Cosa area

Police investigations discovered that a stolen tablet had turned up in a shop in Almuñécar, but it continued to be difficult to prove who was behind the burglaries because the suspects had no criminal records..

Then came a break through and the identity of one of them was discovered, which was confirmed by the Almuñécar shop owner as the person who had sold him the tablet and computers.

Shortly after, the two other suspects were identified as the people behind the four original burglaries and a search of their homes turned up more reported stolen items from 14 different break-ins in Salobreña during the last twelve months.

The modus operandi was always the same; they scaled a perimeter wall or entrance gate, always forcing a window, never the front door, making off with electronic goods.
